More than 200 Shields class boats have been constructed since 1964. There have been three manufacturers of the sailing class: hull numbers 1 to 189 by Chris Craft Manufacturing; 190 to 200 by Hinckley Yachts, and 201 to 259 by Cape Cod Ship Building.
Of the 259 hulls constructed, 84 are missing and 18 are unaffiliated to any Shields Fleet. Historians Curtis Johnson and Jan Slee are looking into the status of the missing boats. If you have any knowledge about the whereabouts of a Shields, email janslee@cox.net.
