Sailing Hall of Fame Inductees

The National Sailing Hall of Fame announced 13 sailors comprising its 12th class of inductees. In ad­dition to islander Garry Hoyt, the class of 2022 includes Ed Adams, Absalom Boston, Doris Colgate, Bruce Farr, Bill Lee, Jonathan McKee, Lin and Larry Pardey and Nick Scandone.

The Lifetime Achievement Award recipients are Roy Disney, Terry Kohler and Frances Wakeman.

The members of the class of 2022 join 101 Hall of Famers, all of whom are featured in the Legends of Sailing exhibition at The Sailing Museum. The class of 2022 will be formally celebrated in November with an induction ceremony and dinner in Newport.

Nominees for the Lifetime Achievement Award must be American citizens, 55-and-over, who have achieved success in and outside sailing and who have given back to the sport in some signif­icant manner. Lifetime Achieve­ment Award recipients are se­lected by the Hall of Fame’s board of directors.
