James D. Berry Jr., 98, of Portsmouth, passed away Jan. 11, 2016 at Mary Immaculate Health Care Service, Lawrence, Mass. He was the husband of the late Myrtle (Peckham) Berry. He leaves behind his sons, James Berry III (Torry) of Las Vegas and Donald Berry of Middletown, four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Rita M. Busuttil, 69, of Newport, passed away Jan. 13, 2016 at Newport Hospital. She spent the majority of her time giving back to the community as a volunteer with the Salvation Army. A celebration of her life was held Jan. 20.
Alice M. Cardoza, 85, of Newport, passed away Jan. 15, 2016 at Newport Hospital. She leaves behind her partner and caregiver, Geno DeAscentis, of Newport. Funeral services will be private. Edward M. Geoghegan, of Tiverton, formerly of Newport, passed away Jan. 18, 2016 at St. Anne’s Hospital, Fall River. He leaves behind his wife, Lorena (Fenerty) Geoghegan, four children, nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He served in the Rhode Island Army National Guard and retired after a 37-year career with National Grid. Calling hours will be Sunday, Jan. 24, from 2 – 4 p.m. at the Memorial Funeral Home.
