The Southcoast Hockey League (www.southcoasthockeyleague.com/ ) Championship games were held at Thayer Arena in Warwick on Saturday, March 11th and Sunday, March 12th.
The Whalers U14 A team entered the Championships at #1 in the division and won the first game against Southern Rhode Island Jr. Rams 4-1 and the final game against the Martha’s Vineyard Mariners 7-2.
The team includes players who have been playing together since pre-school in the Newport Whalers “Learn to Skate” program for Coaches Dan O’Connor and Tucker West. Now many of them play for Portsmouth High School, RMT (Rogers/Middletown/Tiverton Co-Op), and Mt. Hope High School/East Bay Huskies.
