Meet NAASA

The Narragansett Adult Athletic Sailing Association (NASSA) was formed to provide high-performance racing on Narragansett Bay for top athletes and to help return Newport and the U.S. to the top of international competition.

Founded in 2021, NAASA is a nonprofit dedicated to organizing and promoting competitive sailing in high-performance boats. The core mission is to grow high-performance sailing, remove economic barriers and promote diversity.

To attract diverse athletes, a scholarship program gives qualified teams fully-funded F18’s for the season. Individual athletes, both men and women, are being sought to helm and crew the funded boats.

The NAASA F18 League kicked off in mid-June with two days of racing at the Wickford Regatta. The 10-team field was one of the most competitive fleets ever assembled.

Upcoming races include the New England 100s on Aug. 20- 21 and the U.S. Multihull Championships Aug. 25-28. For more information, visit sailnaasa.org.
