A neighbor dropped in recently with a plate inquiring of its value. The 10” diameter plate belonged to her grandfather and was marked on the back with the identifiable blue “Bee Hive” mark for The Royal Vienna Porcelain Factory. It dates from a little before 1860. Hand painted, the scene depicts an arrow struck Achilles. Probably one of a series of mythological views its value is around $1,000.
