

Early voting kicked off in communities across Rhode Island on Wednesday, Oct. 19th, and is scheduled to run until Monday, Nov. 7th.
If you’re registered to vote in Newport, feel free to cast your ballot any time during normal business hours, 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday in the 2nd Floor Conference Room at City Hall. Hours for voting in Middletown are 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
You will be asked to show photo ID to vote in Rhode Island.
Acceptable forms ID include:
- Rhode Island driver’s license/permit
- Rhode Island voter ID card
- US passport
- ID issued by a school or college in the US
- US military ID
- ID issued by the US government or State of Rhode Island
- tribal ID
- government-issued medical card
Please note that early voting will end at 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7th in order to allow staff to prepare for Election Day on Nov. 8th.
