97 Years of Community Service

Newport Lions Club members Paul Tobak and Dave Dittmann are wearing masks, donated by BedJet along with their traditional Lions Club vests. Masks, which have been difficult to obtain, are now required by Governor Raimondo when outside the home.

In addition to the Lions’ eye eye health program in schools, the organization collects eyeglasses and distributes them worldwide to those in need. They also lend support to veterans and bring smiles to children and people hospitalized and in nursing homes. To learn more, visit newportlionsclub.com.

The club further fulfills their tradition of community service by offering a $1,000 renewable scholarship to a graduating Rogers High School senior. Applications are available at the Rogers guidance office or by emailing norann.warner@gmail.com. The deadline is April 30.
