Seamen’s Warming Center Volunteers Needed

With temperatures forecast in the teens for Friday, Jan. 11, the Seamen’s Church Institute is seeking volunteers for its warming center, which will be open from 4 p.m. to 7 a.m. The warming center provides shelter, hot food and beverages to the homeless. Volunteers are needed for the 4-11 p.m. and 11 p.m.-7 a.m. shifts. No prior experience is necessary. Volunteers help serve food and beverages and interact with clients. The church also needs donations of dinner casseroles, snacks, beverages and breakfast foods, such as bagels, muffins and doughnuts. Volunteers must be at least 18.
