Stacey Jackson of Australia skippered the 13-women Ocean Respect Racing team.

“Sailing with a fully professional, all-female crew is a wonderful opportunity,” Jackson said in a press release. “We are excited to promote and encourage women in the sport and engage with the Australian public on ocean health issues that are affecting us daily, both locally and globally.”

Some of the crew have ties to the Newport sailing scene, including Katie Pettibone, from Port Huron, Michigan, who used Newport as one of her training bases for her 2016 Rio Olympics bid.
