‘Work It Out for MLK’

The Middletown-based Bridge to Fitness athletic facility will be holding a variety of fundraisers, special events, food pantry and toy drives from now until just before Christmas to benefit the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center.

The drive kicked-off with donations of non-perishable food items for the center’s local food pantry, and will be followed by a special event titled “Work It Out for MLK” on Saturday, Nov. 24, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. The event will feature three 30-minute sessions of custom training designed by professional trainers Rachel Alexander, Kevin Davis, and Gina Lali. Sessions will focus on cardio circuit, strength works and a spinning class, with participants rotating around once each session has ended.

The fee to participate is $15, and all participants will receive a raffle ticket for prizes ranging from a Bridge to Fitness membership and gift basket worth over $600, a massage with Megan Healy, a Horizon Beverages sampler and other special items. Additional tickets can be purchased. All proceeds benefit the King Community Center’s Holiday Toy Drive. Attendees are also encouraged to bring a new unwrapped toy to the gym as part of the Toy Drive and special workout event. Bridge to Fitness will also be accepting toy donations from Nov. 23 through Dec. 14.
