Men’s Spiritual Study Group

The group will be led by Ken Gaus, spiritual guide and author. Men of all ages are welcome to gather in community and address some of life’s most serious questions such as “Who am I?” and “What am I supposed to be doing?” The upcoming meeting is on June 29 at 6:30 p.m. at Northern Lights Holistic Center, 204b Clock Tower Square, Portsmouth. First Freedom Open House

This is a special celebration of freedom of religion. Twelve of Newport's historic houses of worship and the Colony House will offer a unique open house tour on Wednesday, July 4. ‘America in Song’ Concert

The concert, free and open to the public, will feature the chamber chorus Collegium Ancora, on Wednesday, July 4, at 4 p.m. It will be held at Trinity Church, Queen Anne Square. 401-846-0660.

St. Mark Film Fest

St. Mark’s Church, 60 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown will hold a film festival, “Real Life Catholic,” on Thursdays July 5-26. The film series will begin after the 8:30 a.m. Mass and lasts approximately 90 minutes. Learn about the lives of contemporary Catholics and discuss each film. Celtic Spirituality

John Philip Newell, author of “Listening for the Heartbeat of God: A Celtic Spirituality,” is one of the most prominent Christian teachers of spirituality in the Western world. He will give a talk at Emmanuel Church, 42 Dearborn St., on Sunday, July 8, at 2:30 p.m. Books and CDs will be available, and can be signed by Newell. The price of the talk is $13. Evangelical Friends Church, 70 Bliss Mine Road, Middletown, open to Newport County residents from July 9-13, 9 a.m.-12:15 p.m. for ages 4-12. The theme is how to break free from poor choices and fear. Each morning will be comprised of a sports activity, a Bible lesson, songs and snacks. The fee is $40 per child. Four Enduring Faiths Walking Tour

This escorted, half-mile walking tour will be held on Mondays, July 9-Sept. 3, 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. It will include Touro Synagogue, 85 Touro St., Trinity Church, Queen Anne Square, Newport Congregational Church, 73 Pelham St., and Channing Memorial Church, 135 Pelham St. The tour begins at Touro Synagogue. The synagogue’s Loeb Center opens at 9:30 a.m. and admission is included in the price of the tour ticket, Admission is $10 to $20. Concert at St. John’s

On Tuesday, July 10, at 6:30 p.m., St. John’s Church will present a concert featuring the St. Marylebone School Choir, the Professional Choristers of Newport County, and the women of St. John’s Choir. St. Marylebone School is an all-girls Church of England secondary school specializing in the performing arts and located in the heart of London. The price of the concert is $10 to $15. Worship Service Time Changes
