Enrichment Seminars

City on a Hill Christian Church (COAH) will host a series of enrichment seminars for the community, “The Breakthrough Series.” Each of these free seminars will feature a different topic. Choir School of Newport County Concert

The ensembles of the Choir School, separately and together, joined by instrumentalists and special guests, will perform at Emmanuel Church, 42 Dearborn St., Saturday, May 19, from 2-3 p.m. Donations accepted. 401-847-0675.

Becoming a Self-Reliant and Resilient Family

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Chapel, 177 Miantonomi Ave., Middletown, offers a series of one-hour classes at 6 p.m. on Sundays through June 24. For more information contact Elder and Sister Anderson at 435-459- 1729.

Worship and Lemonade

On Wednesdays May 23 and May 30, Emmanuel Church, 42 Dearborn St., invites the community for worship, hospitality and the Holy Eucharist in All Saints Chapel at 6 p.m. followed by lemonade and cookies on the lawn. 401-847- 0675.

Clothing Donations

St. Mary’s Church, on the corner of Spring Street and Memorial Boulevard, provides free clothing and shoes to people at its hot lunch program. Donations of your best used, clean, ready-to-wear and folded items can be dropped off at the parish center from 10 a.m.-noon on the second and third Wednesday of the month. ‘The King of Kings’ Screens

The original Cecil B. DeMille silent film, “The King of Kings,” will be shown on a full-sized screen at St. Mary’s Church, 12 William St., on May 27 at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m. St. Mary’s youth choir and Cantorum Vigilae will perform a musical soundtrack that becomes the narration of the film. This free event is open to the public. 401- 847-0475.

AICA Thrift Store Closing

The Aquidneck Island Christian Academy, 321 Main Road, Portsmouth, will close on June 2. Hours of operation are Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. 401-849- 5550.
