‘Seven Last Words’ Service

Community Baptist Church, 50 Dr. Marcus Wheatland Blvd., will hold its 29th annual “Seven Last Words” service, on Friday, March 30, from noon-3 p.m. There will be messages from seven preachers, singing and fellowship. All are invited and nursery facilities are available. 401-846-3086.

‘The Gathering’

The Gathering, to be held on March 31, 7-9 p.m., at the Newport Athletic Club, 66 Valley Road, Middletown, is an ecumenical youth movement event. Wednesday, April 4: 4 p.m. Holy Unction and Matins. Thursday, April 5: 9 a.m. Divine Liturgy, 6:30 p.m. twelve passion gospels. Friday, April 6: 8 a.m. Royal Hours, 11 a.m. decorating Kouvouklion, noon children’s retreat, 2 p.m. unnailing from the cross vespers, 6:30 p.m. Matins, Lamentations and procession. Saturday, April 7: 9 a.m. Vesperal Liturgy, 11:30 p.m. Resurrection service. Easter Sunday, April 8: 11 a.m. Agape Vespers Pascha and Easter egg hunt.

Shelter Donations

St. Mark’s Church, 60 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown, is collecting travel-sized personal care items for local shelters. Bags, located at church entrances, have been labeled with a list of items. You may fill the bag with all or some of the items. One shelter is looking for full-sized items such as shampoo and conditioner. Spanish-Speaking Services

Beginning on Sunday, April 1, Crosspoint Church, 14 Rhode Island Ave., will offer Spanish-speaking services on the first Sunday of the month at 12:30 p.m. 401-846-3064.

Public Passover Seder Potluck

On Sunday, April 8, at 5 p.m., Channing Memorial Church, 135 Pelham St., invites the public to a Passover seder potluck in the parish hall. Celebrating Passover as a community event is a fun way to understand the traditions and beliefs, along with the music and food of Jewish people. Children are welcome and encouraged to attend. St. Mary’s Thrift Shop Closing

The thrift shop at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 324 East Main Road, Portsmouth, will be closing soon. Donations will no longer be accepted. The shop will offer reduced prices and will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays until the last day of business on Wednesday, April 25. 401-846-9700.
