Local Sailors Head to St. Barths Bucket

The 32nd annual St. Barths Bucket, which began on March 15, will feature a number of Newport competitors among the 26 boats. Racing on the 183-foot Rosehearty will be Sam and Tom Loughborough, and Bill McGowan. Sam will serve as the “mediator” between his brother on the bow and the afterguard at the back of the boat.

Local sailors will also be crewing on each of the J Class boats in the fleet. Chris Hosking and Ken Read will be on Svea, the largest of the J Class boats, while Topaz will have Tony Rey as strategist, Keats Keeley and the father/son duo of Scott and Dylan Vogel. Racing with Velsheda will be Justin “Juggy” Clougher.
