Pollution Knows No Borders

A presentation and discussion will be held on the threats and consequences of the fossil fuel plant proposed for construction in northwest Rhode Island on Thursday, March 15, from 6 to 7:45 p.m. at the Jamestown Public Library. The forum addresses the environmental impacts on Jamestown, Newport and the Narragansett Bay, as well as connections between current resistance to corporate over-reach and the successful opposition to a large oil refinery that was proposed for the North End of Conanicut Island in the 1950s. Paul Roselli, an environmental expert and activist, will give the presentation. He will highlight the connections between citizens in the land-locked northwest of the state with those along the shore. Audience participation will be encouraged.
