Creative Journaling

Spiritual Practices Sessions

St. John’s, 61 Poplar St., offers “Our Year of Spiritual Renewal: The Joy and Discipline of Spiritual Practices,” on Wednesdays in Lent through March 21, from 5:30-8 p.m. Evening prayer and Low Mass in the Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament will be at 5:30 p.m., followed by a soup, bread and salad supper in the guild hall. 401-848-2561.

Wednesday Lenten Series

The Lenten series, “Loving Our Neighbors: You Did It to Me,” is held on Wednesdays through March 28. Each evening of reflection, conversation and a soup supper will take place in the Emmanuel Church’s Guild Room, 42 Dearborn St., from 6:45-8:15 p.m. 401-847-0675.

Create Community Canvas Paint Night

Evangelical Friends Church invites the public to a paint night at its north campus on 14 Potomac St., Portsmouth, Friday, March 2, at 7 p.m. It is an outreach event to share its new site and message in Newport County. No painting skills are necessary. Learn to paint and enjoy refreshments. Painting supplies will be provided. The cost is $15 or two for $25. Contact paula@efcnewport.com to register.

‘Expressing Your Moral Compass’

Rev. Bill Zelazny, minister of Channing Church, 135 Pelham St., will conclude its series entitled “Expressing Your Moral Compass” on Wednesday, March 7. The class is open to the public and takes place in the parish hall at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $5 for supplies and refreshments. Advanced registration is required. Evangelical Friends Church to Open North Campus

Saturday, March 10, is the official grand opening launch date of the north campus of Evangelic Friends Church, Newport. At EFC North, 14 Potomac St., Portsmouth, services will be held on Saturday evenings at 5 p.m. 401-847-1490, efcnewport.com.

Outreach Lenten Project

St. Mark’s Church, 60 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown, is collecting travel-sized personal care items for local shelters. Bags, located at church entrances, have been labeled with a list of items. You may fill the bag with all or some of the items. One shelter is looking for full-sized items such as shampoo and conditioner. Place donated items in one of the containers at the church entrance by Easter Sunday, April 1. 401-423-1421, stmarkjtn.org.
