Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman’s Soul

A book-based series that touches on some deep and necessary areas of reflection for adult women will begin on Sunday, Jan. 28, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at St. Mary’s Church, 324 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Rest and Return

An alternative Christian experience will be held on Sunday, Jan. 28 at 4 p.m. at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 324 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Led by the Rev. Jennifer Pedrick, Gabe Giella and Shelley Dugan, the session will include meditation, reflection, sacred movement and Holy Communion. There will be a free will offering. Providence College Choirs Perform

The choirs of Providence College will perform at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 12 William St., on Sunday, Jan. 28, at the 9:30 and 11 a.m. masses. There will also be an afternoon concert. Visit stmarynewport.org for details. 401-847-0475.

Breakfast and Bible Study

St. Peter’s Church, 525 Broadway, will offer “Breakfast and Bible Study” on seven consecutive Saturdays, from Feb. 3-March 17, at 10 a.m. It will include a visual presentation regarding what it means to live a grace-shaped life. All are welcome. 401-846-9567.

Mardi Gras Fundraiser

A Mardi Gras fundraiser will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 13, at 7 p.m. at Seamen’s Church Institute, 18 Market Square. It will feature a cabaret, desserts and a silent auction. The event will benefit the 2018 England tour by the St. John’s Adult Choir and Professional Choristers. Admission is $20. 401-848-2561.

Warm-Up Wednesdays

St. Paul’s Church, 12 Marlborough St., will hold Warm-Up Wednesdays in Barber Hall through the winter months from 1-4 p.m. Hot coffee, tea and refreshments are available. 401-846-0966.
