24 Hour Comics Day

To celebrate 24-Hour Comics Day, an annual, worldwide celebration of the creation of comics, creative folks take on the 24-hour comics challenge to create a 24- page comic in a 24-hour span. Thousands of artists participate every year. This year, the Annex Comics of Newport, and the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Rhode Island are teaming up to solely represent the State of Rhode Island in this event.

To participate, bring art supplies, drinks and snacks and make your own comic book. Open to all visual creators and writers too. The public is welcome to watch the artists at work.

The event will be split into two 12-hour shifts, Saturday, Oct. 7, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 8, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at URI Fine Arts Center Building, Room A101 (Painting Studio) Kingston Campus. For more, visit 24hourcomicsday.com.
