RECENT DEATHS

Tony Mark Clarke, 55, of North Kingstown, formerly of Middletown and Newport, passed away Aug. 25, 2017. He was the former husband of Patti Potter. Calling hours will be Thursday, Aug. 31, from 5-8 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral will be held on Friday, Sept. 1, at 8 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Lucy’s Church.

Mary Crapo, 77, of Newport, passed away Aug. 23, 2017 at Newport Hospital. She was the wife of Louis Kampmeyer. Calling hours will be Saturday, Sept. 2, from 4-7 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home.

Leonard “Lenny” F. Harkin Jr., 70, of Swansea, formerly of Newport, passed away Aug. 26, 2017. He was the husband of Joanne (Moniz) Harkin. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served two tours in Vietnam. Calling hours will be Friday, Sept. 1, from 10-11 a.m. at the Memorial Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service. Burial with military honors will follow in Newport Memorial Park.

Peter Alan Tiffault, 53, of Portsmouth, passed away Aug. 23, 2017. He was the husband of Elizabeth Marie (Coleman) Tiffault and the son of Pierre and the late Josephine (Alvanas) Tiffault. Visiting hours will be Saturday, Aug. 26, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Connors Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of Life Service.

Lamont J. McGee Lamont J. “Pat” McGee, 71, of Newport, passed away Aug. 15, 2017 at the John Clarke Nursing Center. He was born Nov. 5, 1945 in Newport. He was the son of the late Ann E. Turner and stepson of Herman S. Santos. He was a long-time member of the Middletown Baptist Church. He is remembered for his smile, singing and bible study. He enjoyed socializing, especially with his family. He loved music, playing the guitar and was an avid fisherman. He graduated from the Rogers High School GED program and worked as a landscaper at Burger King. He is survived by his brother, Herman S. Santos Jr., a host of cousins, nieces and nephews, along with a host of friends, especially Doug, Lenny and Mike. He was the brother of the late Richard Grant Santos. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 9, at 11 a.m. at the Middletown Baptist Church, 1818 W. Main Road, Middleton. A repast and fellowship will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor may be made to Middletown Baptist Church.
