‘Music on the Lawn’

St. John’s Church, 61 Poplar St., will hold a “Music on the Lawn” concert on Thursday, Aug. 31, from 6-7:45 p.m. The performance will feature trumpet player Doug Woolverton and friends. 401-848-2561.

Organ Recitals Series

The “Bach and Friends at Quarter Till” summer weekend organ recital series will wrap up on Saturday, Sept. 2 (11:45 a.m. and 2:45 p.m.) and Sunday, Sept. 3 (5:45 and 8:45 p.m.) at Saint John’s Church, 61 Poplar St. The concerts last for 15 minutes. YES! Dance!

YES! Dance! Affirms the power of movement, creativity and expression. All are welcome and experience is not necessary. Sessions are on the first Wednesday of the month. The next session is on Wednesday, Sept. 6 at St. Paul’s Barber Hall, 12 Marlborough St., 5:45-6:45 p.m. 401-846-0966.

Temple Shalom Shabbat Services

Temple Shalom welcomes the public to its remaining summer Sabbath services. They are a nonaffiliated, egalitarian and inclusive “kehillah” (community). Friday evening services, led by Cantor Fred Scheff, will be held on Sept. 8 and 15 at 7:30 p.m. An Oneg Shabbat will follow services. The Oneg Shabbat on Sept. 15 is in honor of the centennial of the Touro Fraternal Organization, which has generously sponsored the Oneg. Sabbath morning services, led by congregation member Rabbi Loel Weiss and Cantor Scheff, will be held on Sept. 9 at 10 a.m. Following the service, there will be an informal “Lunch & Learn” discussion. For the upcoming High Holidays, all are invited for prayer, inspiration and introspection. No tickets are necessary. The temple is located at 223 Valley Road, Middletown. Scholarship Tea

The 5 Point Club’s annual scholarship tea will be held on Sunday, Sept. 10, at the Community Baptist Church Annex, 50 Dr. Marcus Wheatland Blvd. from 4-6 p.m. This event is open to the public. Free will offering. 401-846-3086.

Four Faiths Walking Tour

There will be a walking tour of four houses of worship on Tuesdays, through Oct. 31, from 1-4 p.m. The tour starts at Touro Synagogue. After visiting the synagogue, visitors will be escorted to Trinity Church, Newport Congregational Church and St. Mary’s Church. Prices vary. Visit 4faiths.org or call 401-290-7535.
