NBS Beach Bash

The Norman Bird Sanctuary is hosting a summer party for the whole family on Third Beach on Thursday, Aug. 3. The “Beach Bash” event will directly fund transportation and other costs for school groups to participate in NBS’s environmental education programs as well as daily operating costs for properties and trail management.

Local blues rock band The Kohaug Allstars will be providing lively tunes for dancing in the sand as guests enjoy complimentary wine, beer, lemonade and ice tea. Guests can pack their own beach picnic or choose from the Binge BBQ Food Truck offerings.

The NBS Education Staff will teach kids how to sein for fish and other interesting sea creatures down by the water’s edge. Guests are encouraged to bring their own kayaks, paddleboards, and beach toys or rent from Jamestown Outdoors, who will be on site for more fun on the water.

The event will run from 6 to 9 p.m. The cost to attend is $22 for members and $25 non-members, under 21 is $10. For more information and to register, visit normanbirdsanctuary.org.
