English Garden Party

St. Columba’s Chapel will host its 26th annual English Garden Party on Saturday, June 10, from 1-5 p.m., rain or shine, at 55 Vaucluse Ave., Middletown. The highlight of the garden party is the Devonshire Cream Tea, which includes an assortment of teas, scones, Devonshire cream and many other goodies. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased that day or in advance by calling 401-847-5571. Seatings are every hour from 1 to 4 p.m. There is also a Children’s Tea for $5, which includes some wizardry crafts. There will be plants, books, DVDs, and gently-used items for sale; a silent auction; a Morris Dancers performance at 2 p.m.; a choir concert at 3 p.m.; a flower festival; and children’s and adult activities. Proceeds from the garden party help support outreach ministries to local charities.

‘Bach and Friends at Quarter Till Organ Recitals

The “Bach and Friends at Quarter Till” summer weekend organ recital series will be held on Saturdays and Sundays, June 10 to Sept. 3 at Saint John’s Church, 61 Poplar St. Programs will be held on Saturdays at 11:45 a.m. and 2:45 p.m., Sundays at 5:45 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. The fifteen minute concerts will highlight the organ music of J. S. Bach and Charles-Marie Widor. Admission is 25 cents or any amount you wish. 401-848-2561.

Holy Ghost Feast

Healing Service

LaSalette missionary Father Andre Patenaude, MS, communicates the Gospel message through music on Wednesday, June 14, at 7 p.m., in Saint Lucy’s Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown. He will celebrate the Mass, followed by a Healing Service.

Emmanuel Movie Night

“The African Queen” will be screened on Friday, June 16, at 6 p.m. at Emmanuel Church, 42 Dearborn St. Snacks will be available or bring your own. Open to the public. Donations will be accepted. 401-847-0675.

Trinity Strawberry Festival

Trinity Church, Newport, presents its fifth annual Strawberry Festival, Saturday, June 17, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., rain or shine. Enjoy homemade strawberry shortcake, fresh-squeezed lemonade, music, craft vendors and tours of the church. 401-846-0660.

Central Baptist Festival

Central Baptist Church, 99 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown, will hold its yearly June Festival on Saturday, June 17, from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. 401- 423-1651.

Celebration of the Feast of Corpus Christi

St. John’s Church, 61 Poplar St., will celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi with a Solemn Evensong, outdoor procession and benediction of the Blessed Sacrament on Sunday, June 18, at 4 p.m. Weather permitting, the Sacrament will be carried around the block under the processional canopy. 401-848-2561.

Four Faiths Tour

There will be a walking tour of three houses of worship, June 20 and June 27, from 1-3 p.m. The tour starts at Touro Synagogue, Touro Street. Visitors can first explore the Loeb Center, which is included in the ticket. To fully enjoy the exhibits, it is suggested you arrive at 12:30 p.m. After visiting Touro Synagogue, visitors will be escorted down Spring Street to Trinity Church and Newport Congregational Church. St. Mary’s Church is not included in the tour. Tours including all four venues will take place on Tuesdays, July 11-Oct. 31, from 1-4 p.m., with the exception of July 4. Tickets are $21.
