For What It’s Worth

It’s not the first time that someone has brought in a paperweight like the one pictured asking of its age and value. I remember that Ocean State Job Lot sold similar weights a few years ago imported from China; they were beautiful and cost $5 each. Valuable weights are almost always signed: Saint-Louis, Baccarat, Clichy, etc. I asked what the visitor paid for the weight and he said $90. Hmmm. You can fool some of the people some of the time. . . .
