Family Movie Night

On Friday, May 19, at 6 p.m., Emmanuel Church, 42 Dearborn St., will screen “Scholastic Fairy Tales” in the library. Families are welcome to bring snacks or purchase them at the church before the movie. All are welcome to attend. 401-847-0675.

Scholarship Fellowship and Paint Social

The Hattie L. Gilton Women's Missionary Society presents a scholarship fellowship and paint social with Kenny Blane Art, Saturday, May 20, at Mt. Zion AME Church, 31 Van Zandt Ave., from 3-7 p.m. There will be a $30 donation and light refreshments. To register call Sister Yvonne Coleman at 401-207-5826. This event is open to public.

Companio Performance

Ensemble Companio, a chamber choir, will perform a concert entitled “Hope is my Philosophy” on Saturday, May 20, at 7 p.m. at Saint John the Evangelist Church. Suggested admission is $20, with $15 for seniors and students. 401- 848-2561.

Jerusalem Day Celebration

The Israel Consulate and the Touro Synagogue invite the public to join in a celebration of Jerusalem’s 50 years of unification on Sunday, May 21, at 3 p.m. Judah Touro, founder of the Touro Synagogue, donated to the city of Jerusalem in the 1850's. His legacy will be honored as part of the event to be held at the synagogue, 72 Touro St.

Choir Sunday at Channing

On Sunday, May 21, at 10 a.m., the Channing Choir and Friends, led by Director Janet Grant, will present a service of music along with inspirational thoughts and readings. Classics plus gospel selections and songs from Broadway, Disney, and the Beatles. Channing Memorial Church, 135 Pelham St. 401-846-0643.

Soup Supper

St. Peter’s Church offers soup supper, on Tuesday, May 23, at 5 p.m. The meals are served at the United Baptist Church, 30 Spring St. To help with setup come at 4:30 p.m. Contact Bente Rainer at 401- 275-3229 to volunteer.

World Peace Circle

Arrive at Easton’s Beach, Memorial Blvd., on Thursday, May 25, at 6:45 p.m. to join in the New Moon Prayer/Mediation World Peace Circle at 7 p.m. Participants join hands for 15 minutes while meditating or saying a silent prayer to foster peace in the world.
