St. Mary’s Closed Through May 5

Due to the magnitude of the St. Mary’s organ reconstruction, St. Mary’s Church will be closed through May 5. Daily and weekend Mass and funerals will be celebrated at St. Augustin’s Church. The schedule will remain the same, with both parishes sharing the 9:30 a.m. Mass.

Healing Sound Journey

Heal the noise of everyday chaos through a restorative immersion into the powerful frequencies of Tibetan and quartz crystal singing bowls, flutes, gongs, ocean drums, rain sticks, rattles and didgeridoos. All are welcome. The event will be held on Friday, April 28, from 7-8:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 12 Marlborough St. Suggested donation of $15. Friend Raising Yard Sale

The Evangelical Friends Church will hold a yard sale fundraiser in partnership with Newport County Young Life on Saturday, April 29, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the church, 70 Bliss Mine Road, Middletown. The yard sale will take place rain or shine. Young Life is a multicultural ministry focused on youth in diverse cultural communities and economically-depressed areas. Locally, it ministers to at risk/pregnant high school girls in Newport County. For more information, call 401-847-1490.

‘The Gathering’

Concert at St. Columba’s

St. Columba’s will present its final concert of the season on Sunday, April 30, at 4 p.m. in the parish hall at 55 Vaucluse Ave., Middletown. Concert pianist Clemens Teufel will present works by Schumann, Heller, Liszt, Hanson and Gershwin. Admission is $20. For more information, call 401-847-5500.

Embracing the Cure Fair

Embracing the Cure’s 5th Vendor/ Craft Fair will be held on Saturday, May 6, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at St. Lucy’s Parish Center, 909 West Main Road, Middletown. ‘A Day Apart’ Meditation Retreat

A meditation retreat will be held on Saturday, May 6, from 10 a.m.- 3:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Barber Hall, 12 Marlborough St. The retreat will focus on emotional spirituality and maturity. A light lunch will be provided. Donations are welcomed. For more information, call 401-846- 0966.

Shoreline Ringers Concert

Spring Concert

The Choir School of Newport County will give a concert on Saturday, May 13, at 2 p.m. at Emmanuel Church, 42 Dearborn St. Three ensembles will perform a varied program, along with violinist Ealain McMullin from the Newport String Project, and musicians from the First Church of Christ, Newington, Connecticut.
