MEN who make a DIFFERENCE

The Women’s Resource Center (WRC) is readying for its annual Men Who Make a Difference gala. Sixteen honorees will be recognized at this year’s event for taking an active and positive role in the community.

The gala will feature a recognition ceremony for the honorees, plus dinner and dancing. Taylor Britto, a Providence Police officer who is also associate pastor and founder of the Journey Through Faith Community Center and a 2015 “Men Who Make a Difference” honoree, will be the keynote speaker. Daniel Baker, a teacher at St. Philomena School in Portsmouth, is master of ceremonies. Carol Ryan, a member of WRC’s board of directors and development committee, is chair of the event.

“Through the work we do at Women’s Resource Center, we have a deep appreciation for people who are willing to get involved in their community or who serve as a role model, mentor or inspiration to someone else,” says Lori DiPersio, executive director of the Women’s Resource Center. “This annual event is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to some special men who make a difference in the lives of others while also helping us continue our mission and services to women, children and men in Newport and Bristol Counties.”
