Mid-Lent Evensong

The community is invited to attend a mid-Lent evensong at Emmanuel Church, 42 Dearborn St., Sunday, April 2, at 5 p.m., with an organ prelude at 4:50 p.m. The service will feature choral music by Vaughan Williams and Mozart, and organ music by Widor and Vierne. Lenten Sanctuary Series

Central Baptist Church, 99 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown, will continue its "Lenten Soup and Sanctuary" series on Wednesday, April 5, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. It is open to the public and will include a light soup lunch, quiet meditation and music. 401-423-1651.

A Series of Mini-Retreats

Trinity Church, Queen Anne Square, invites the community to experience The Holy through touch, taste, sight and smell on Wednesday, April 5 from 7-8:30 p.m. The retreats include prayer, a simple meal, a brief address, and reflecting and exploring the presence of God using one sense at a time. 401-846-0660.

‘Vocation of Hospitality’

On Sunday, April 2, Rev. Alan Neale, assisting priest at Trinity Church, will continue the series of discussions on hospitality. He will talk about welcoming God as a guest into your life and into your heart. The discussion will take place at Trinity Church’s Honyman Hall from 9-9:45 a.m. All are welcome to attend. 401-846-0660.

Emmanuel’s Lenten Study

Emmanuel Church, 42 Dearborn St., will continue its Lenten study series on Wednesday, April 5 at 6:45 p.m. 401-847-0675.

‘Wednesdays in Lent’

The Church of Saint John the Evangelist, 61 Poplar St., continues its “Wednesdays in Lent: The Meaning of Ministry,” on April 5, 6:30-8 p.m. in the Guild Hall, with a light supper of soup and bread. 401-848-2561.

Community Meal

Community Baptist Church, 50 Dr. Marcus Wheatland Blvd., serves community meals on Saturdays at 2:30 p.m. The next meals will be on April 1 and April 8. 401-846-3086.

Piano Concert

St. Matthew’s Church, 87 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown, will offer a free piano concert on April 9 at 2 p.m., featuring pianist Jennifer Chu. 401-423-1762.
