Speaker on Refugees

Temple Shalom will be hosting a speaker from the Dorcas Institute on refugees and immigration Friday, March 24 at 8:15 p.m. at the temple, 223 Valley Road, Middletown. Refreshments will be served.

Lenten Fish Dinners

Lenten fish dinners will be held at St. Barnabas Church Hall, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth, on Fridays, March 24 and 31, and April 7, from 5-8 p.m. The cost is $10 for adults, $6 for children under 12, and free for children under 5. Tickets are available at St. Barnabas and St. Anthony parish offices and the Portsmouth Senior Center. Proceeds will benefit the churches and the senior center. 401-683-1343.

Piano Concert

Pancake Breakfast

An all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast will be held Sunday, March 26, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 5 Mann Ave., to benefit the Haitian Mountain School. The cost to attend is $7 per person or $20 for a family. 401-847-0065.

Annual Community Concert

St. Mary’s Church, 12 William St., will offer a concert of organ music and song Sunday, March 26, at 6 p.m. It will feature a diverse repertoire of liturgical and non-liturgical music. 401-847-0475.

Mid-Lent Evensong

Emmanuel Church, 42 Dearborn St., invites the community to a Mid- Lent evensong Sunday, April 2, at 5 p.m. with an organ prelude at 4:50 p.m. The service will feature choral music by Vaughan Williams and Mozart, and organ music by Widor and Vierne. Lenten Soup and Sanctuary Series

Central Baptist Church, 99 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown, will continue its ‘Lenten Soup and Sanctuary’ series on Wednesdays, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. through April 5. It is open to the public and will include a light soup lunch, quiet meditation and music. 401-423-1651.

‘Vocation of Hospitality’

On Sunday, March 26, Rev. Alan Neale, assisting priest at Trinity Church, will continue the series of discussions on hospitality. The focus will be the hospitality of time. The discussion will take place at Trinity Church’s Honyman Hall from 9-9:45 a.m. All are welcome to attend. 401-846-0660.

‘Wednesdays in Lent’

The Church of Saint John the Evangelist, 61 Poplar St., continues its “Wednesdays in Lent: The Meaning of Ministry,” through April 5, 6:30-8 p.m. in the Guild Hall with a light supper of soup and bread. On Wednesday, March 29, the Right Reverend Geralyn Wolf will speak about her understanding of the ministry of a bishop. 401-848-2561.
