Greenlove for the Planet

Lesley Muir of the Norman Bird Sanctuary, Christine Bandoni and Katherine Bowers gather at the sanctuary on Wednesday, Jan. 25, for the unveiling of a water fountain and bottle filling station donated by the Greenlove Foundation. The gift was made in honor of Bandoni’s son Luc, who passed away last August at the age of 19. Greenlove promotes the life’s mission of Kendra Bowers, an ardent environmentalist who was fatally injured in a skiing accident in 2014, also at the age of 19. Already installed at two venues on the island – Fort Adams and Rogers High School, the water bottle refill station is a signature of the Greenlove Foundation, whose mission is sustainability awareness and environmental responsibility. “NBS is the perfect place for a water filling station,” said Muir, NBS director of special events. “We are honored that Greenlove has chosen us for their third installation. Clearly, it fits within our mission.” (Photo by Jen Carter)
