Young Thespians on Stage

Quinn Hatzis, perched high above the audience, will play Bastian in the Newport Children’s Theatre presentation of “The Neverending Story” on Friday through Sunday, Jan. 13–15, at Casino Theatre.

Adapted from the novel of the same name, “The Neverending Story” is about Bastian, a lonely boy who finds an adventure unfolding in a magical book. He follows the perils of a young hunter, Atreyu, played by John Wiest (in foreground).

“The Neverending Story” is directed by Linda Vars, with original music by Newporter Justin Brierley and Harrison Hartley.

NCT has been performing for children and families since 1980. In addition to two mainstage shows and the spring musical each year, NCT offers acting workshops for all age groups, including the Teen Rep program, as well as summer and winter workshops taught by professionals from the Broadway stage. Auditions will be held next week for "Fiddler on the Roof."
