The Bounty of the Sea

Honoring the "Harvest of the Sea," the Bowen's Wharf Seafood Festival will offer fresh local seafood on Saturday, Oct. 15, and Sunday, Oct. 16, from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. both days. Fish tacos, lobster rolls, fried calamari, signature cocktails and cold beer will accompany continuous live music, and family fun, all beneath the wharf's colorful tents. New this year is a scavenger hunt sponsored by the Rhode Island Oyster Trail. Stop by their booth and start hunting to win prizes. Dockside will be the Tall Ship Oliver Hazard Perry; be sure to check out the mighty 200-foot sailing vessel. It is the first oceangoing full-rigged ship built in the U.S. in more than 100 years. There is no admission charge to the festival; food and beverages can be purchased at vendor booths. The event will be held rain or shine.
