More than 200 attended the event, which featured the Lois Vaughan Jazz Trio and light fare by Blackstone Caterers. All proceeds went toward the maintenance and beautification of the Redwood lawn.

Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Gordon S. Wood will be honored by the Redwood Library on Thursday, Nov. 10, as the second recipient of the Abraham Redwood Medal for Contributions to American History and Culture. The event will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the Casino Theatre, where, following the presentation of the medal, Wood will give a talk entitled “Advice to the Egyptians (and other Arabs) from the Founding Fathers.” The award, established in 2015 by the Redwood board of directors, recognizes individuals whose outstanding contributions to American culture mirror the founding spirit of Abraham Redwood and the Redwood Library.
