Music on the Lawn

On Thursday, Sept. 1, at 6 p.m., St. John the Evangelist Church, 61 Poplar St., will present the Toe Jam Puppet Band for an interactive show for all ages. Food is available for purchase. This free event is open to all. 401-848-2561.

Neighborhood Breakfast

Monthly neighborhood breakfast on Saturday, Sept. 3, at 8:30 a.m., Emmanuel Church, 42 Dearborn St. All in the community are welcome to attend. 401-847-0675.

Portsmouth Community Blood Drive

On Sunday, Sept. 4, from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m., there will be a blood drive in St. Barnabas’ church hall, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Visit ribc.org to make an appointment, Sponsor Code 1255.

Trinity’s ‘Mass on the Grass’

Trinity Church, Queen Anne Square, will offer its last outdoor mass of the season on Sunday, Sept. 4, at 10 a.m., weather permitting. 401-846-0660.

Worship on the Lawn

Emmanuel Church offers outdoor worship on Sunday, Sept. 4, at 10 a.m. and on Tuesday, Sept. 6, Holy Communion will also be offered outside at 4:30 p.m. 401-847- 0675.

People of Faith

On the first Wednesday of the month beginning Wednesday, Sept. 7, from 6:45-8 p.m., Emmanuel Church, 42 Dearborn St., will present an exploration of people of various faith traditions and spiritual practices. 401-847-0675.

Thrift Shop Seeks Donations

Donations of new and gently used clothing (fall and winter items) and small household goods may be dropped off in Gibbs House at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 324 East Main Road, Portsmouth, during store hours (Wednesdays and Saturdays, 10 a.m.-1 p.m). Small items may also be left anytime in the exterior drop box by the entrance to the shop. Books, breakables, or TVs and other outdated electronics cannot be accepted. 401-846-9700.
