RECENT DEATHS

Joseph “Joe Vinnie” F. Barbarow Jr., 67, passed away unexpectedly July 25, 2016 in Bucksport, Maine. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He leaves behind his wife, Elizabeth (Burns) Barbarow, two children, and four grandchildren. Calling hours will be Thursday, Aug. 4, from 4-7 p.m. at the O’Neill-Hayes Funeral Home. A graveside ceremony will be held at St. Columba Cemetery, Brown’s Lane, Middletown, with military honors on Aug. 5 at noon.

Jean F. (Kilcline) LoPiano, 88, formerly of Middletown, passed away July 24, 2016 at the Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua, N.H. She was the wife of the late Fred John LoPiano and the late John J. Mahoney. She leaves behind her three sons and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be private. Lorraine (Almeida) Mello, 79, of Portsmouth, passed away July 27, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Manor in Bristol. She was the wife of the late William Francis Mello. She leaves behind her sons, William F. Mello Jr. and his wife Lori of Tiverton, Michael Mello and his wife Joyce of Portsmouth James Mello and his wife Paula of Bristol, and John Mello and his wife Jolene of Tenn., and five grandchildren.

Elsie M. (Silvia) Perry, 96, of Middletown, passed away Aug. 2, 2016 at Village House Nursing Home, Newport. She was the wife of the late Jesse S. Perry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Aug. 6, at 10 a.m. at Jesus Saviour Church. Wallace B. Shepherd Jr., 69, of Portsmouth, passed away unexpectedly July 25, 2016 at Newport Hospital. He leaves behind his wife, Debbie (Capodilupo) Shepherd. Donations in his memory may be made to Salve Regina University, Ochre Court, Newport, RI 02840.

Donald Stuehler, 51, passed away July 27, 2016 at Newport Hospital. He was the son of Josephine (Cosentino) Stuehler of Portsmouth and the late J. Donald Stuehler.

David Wolfenden, 77, of Newport, passed away July 21, 2016 at Heatherwood Nursing and Subacute Center, Newport. He was well known for filming Newport and Middletown Town Council meetings for years. His last adventure was filming with drones. He is survived by his lifelong friend Ralph Flint, who cared for him throughout his illness.
