Music on the Lawn

John the Evangelist, Washington and Willow streets, will present Doug Woolverton and Friends on Thursday, July 21, from 6-7:45 p.m. Free admission, donations appreciated. Bring a picnic if you wish; refreshments including beer and wine will be available. Some seating and tables will be provided so get there early, otherwise bring blankets and lawn chairs. Return to Camelot

St. Mary’s Church, at the corner of Spring St. and Memorial Blvd., presents “Return to Camelot” twice a week through Sept., Sundays from 1-2 p.m. and Tuesdays from 3-4 p.m. “Camelot” is a remembrance of the Kennedy wedding that took place in the church on Sept. 12, 1953. Summer Worship on the Lawn at Emmanuel Church

With the exception of Sunday, July 31, Emmanuel Church, 42 Dearborn St., will hold its 10 a.m. Sunday service on the lawn through Sept. 4. In case of inclement weather, the service will be moved to All Saints Chapel. Note that the 8 a.m. service will continue to be held in the chapel. ‘Why Meditate’ Seminars

Channing Church, 135 Pelham St., will present a meditation seminar with Ken Gaus based on the book “Why Meditate,” by Matthieu Ricard, a Frenchman who became a Buddhist monk over 40 years ago. Hellenic Fest

St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church will hold its annual Hellenic Fest on Friday, July 29, 4 p.m.- midnight; Saturday, July 30, noon- 1 a.m.; and Sunday, July 31, noon-6 p.m. Enjoy authentic Greek cuisine and pastries, live music and dancing, ouzo, Greek beer and wines, and shop at the marketplace. The Well Coffeehouse

The Well is a once-a-month Christian coffeehouse held at The Annex, 40 Marcus Wheatland Blvd., from 7-9 p.m. It features area musicians and performers from various walks of life and affiliations. Worship Service of Mime, Drama and Celebration

On Sunday, July 31, during the 9:30 a.m. service, the King’s Clown Troupe from Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Clifton Park, N.Y., will present a unique worship service of mime, drama and celebration at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 525 Broadway. The Clown Troupe’s worship services are designed for all ages and denominations. All are welcome to attend the service and the potluck brunch to follow. ‘Mass on the Grass’

On Sunday, Aug. 7, the 10 a.m. service at Trinity Church, Queen Anne Square, will be held on the lawn, weather permitting. (The 8 a.m. service sill still be held in the church.) 401-846-0660.

Portuguese Cultural Festival

The Vasco da Gama Portuguese- American Charitable Society of Newport will host a Portuguese Cultural Festival on Sunday, August 14, from noon-4 p.m. on the hall grounds located at 15 Fenner Avenue. Entertainment features a performance by the Taunton Folklore Group at 2 p.m. 401-846-0913.
