Summer Solstice Event Best Yet

Under a large tent on the north lawn with sweeping views of Narragansett Bay, the Forts Adams Trust Summer Solstice event held on June 24 was a great success on multiple fronts. A record attendance of 145 guests raised their glasses for a champagne sunset toast and helped raise more than $13,500 for the trust–another record over previous summer events.

Guests dined on hors d’oeuvres and a selection of entrees from Blackstone Caterers, and enjoyed a complimentary bar from M.S. Walker. The X Isles provided music for dancing and the Artillery Company of Newport accompanied with a bugler and French horn.

“The entire trust extends kudos to all the contributors, donors, sponsors, attendees and fort staff for a tremendously successful event,” staid David Martland, president of the Fort Adams Trust.

“This was an incredible evening. All I heard was accolade after accolade,” commented Executive Director Joe Dias.
