Week of Fasting and Prayer

CrossPoint Church, 14 Rhode Island Ave., will continue its week of prayer and fasting for our community through Friday, June 17. The sanctuary will be open at 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. for prayer. 401-846-3064.

Music on the Lawn

On Thursday, June 16, from 6-8 p.m., St. John’s Church, 61 Poplar St., will present Music on the Lawn. Parking on the Point will be available. Donations will be appreciated. 401-848-2561.

Thrift Sale on the Point

On Friday, June 17, and Saturday, June 18, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., St. John’s Church, 61 Poplar St., will hold a thrift sale on the church grounds. 401-848-2561.

Strawberry Festival

On Saturday, June 18, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Trinity Church, Queen Anne Square, will hold its fourth annual strawberry festival on the lawn. There will be strawberry shortcake, craft vendors and more. 401-846-0660.

Organ Recitals

St. John’s Church, 61 Poplar St., will hold 15-minute organ recitals on Saturdays at 11:45 a.m. and 2:45 p.m., and on Sundays at 5:45 and 8:45 p.m. through Sept. 4. Extra recitals have been added for the Secret Garden Tour weekend, Friday, June 17-Sunday, June 19. Each program will highlight the music of Bach and a work in variation form by another composer. The Well Coffeehouse

This once-a-month Christian coffeehouse features area musicians and performers from various walks of life and affiliations and takes place at The Annex, 40 Marcus Wheatland Blvd. Everyone is invited. The next coffeehouse will be Friday, June 17, from 7-9 p.m., wellcoffeehouse@gmail.com.

CBC June Festival

Central Baptist Church, 99 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown, will hold its annual June festival on Saturday, June 18, from 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. There will be a silent auction, white elephants, food, a kids’ mart, a rummage sale and special activities. 401-423-1651.

Emmanuel Book Group

The next meeting of this monthly book group will be on Tuesday, June 21, at 6 p.m., at Emmanuel Church, 42 Dearborn St. John Steinbeck’s “Travels with Charley: In Search of America” will be discussed. New members welcome. 401-847-0675.
