Hospital Welcomes New Physician

Newport Hospital announced that Susanne Patrick-MacKinnon, M.D., has joined the hospital medical staff as part of Newport Neurology, a Lifespan Physician Group practice. Her areas of expertise include epilepsy, migraines, and multiple sclerosis.

“It’s a privilege to be able to work with and treat patients struggling with a diverse range of conditions,” said Patrick-MacKinnon, “whether they need an electromyography to assess muscle and nerve function, Botox therapy for chronic migraines, or trigger point injections for everything from fibromyalgia to myofascial pain syndrome. I enjoy helping patients manage their health and well-being so they can live to their best potential.”

Located in the Borden-Carey Building of Newport Hospital, Newport Neurology deals with diseases of the nervous system including stroke, epilepsy, migraines, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease. Certified by the Joint Commission since 2012, the hospital’s Primary Stroke Center meets rigorous national standards for the quality treatment of those suffering from stroke. She began seeing patients on June 1.
