Can We Park Yet?

The upgrade at the Bellevue Gardens parking lot which began in early March is moving right along, with finish date aiming for the end of this month–in time for Tennis Week. Changes and upgrades include new LED lighting, improved drainage, new granite curbing, and, as a complement to the brick sidewalk across the street, a series of bricked walkways amid well-placed flower beds. The design and construction team includes Northeast Collaborative Architects, Beta Engineering, VHB and Behan Brothers, Inc. Since work began the number of available parking spots has been reduced to the 30 or so adjacent to the storefronts. It hasn’t always been business as usual, and the reopening of the lot and the settling of the dust will be a welcome relief to merchants of Bellevue’s busiest block. (Photo by Kirby Varacalli)
