If you can imagine it, the beauty of walking along the Cliff Walk is better than ever. These daffodils near McAuley Hall at Salve Regina University on the Cliff Walk are among the nearly 500,000 bulbs planted in the city. Launched in 2006 in partnership with Newport’s Daffodil Project and the Alliance for a Livable Newport, Daffodillion (the initiative to plant a million daffodils around town) is readying itself for the third annual Daffodil Days Festival. The week’s free events include Daffy Dabble and Doodle Days and Tour de Jonquilles Bike Ride. Other events include Driving Miss Daffodil Car Rally around Ocean Drive and Classic Car Display and Garden Party at Bellevue House on Sunday, April 24. Daffy Deal buttons are on sale for $5 at the Newport Visitor’s Center. See full schedule at daffodillion.com. (Photo by Jack Kelly)
