RECENT DEATHS

Albert Antone, 85, of Middletown, passed away March 27, 2016. He served in the U.S. Army and then in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. In 1958, he began a 25-year career in the United States Postal Service. He leaves behind two sons, Albert Antone Jr. of Middletown and Edward Lark Antone of Portsmouth, 20 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and five great-greatgrandchildren. His funeral will be Thursday, March 31, at noon at the Memorial Funeral Home. Donations in his memory may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.

Evelyn Loretta Baer, 71, of Newport, passed away March 27, 2016 at home. She leaves behind her husband, Ronald C. Baer; her children, Stephanie Moniz (Jay) of Newport, Sandra Baer of Newport, Shelley D’Andrea (Mark) of North Kingstown, Susan Kosegarten (Joel) of Middletown, Stephen Baer of Newport; and seven grandchildren. Calling hours will be Thursday, March 31, from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Memorial Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held April 1 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, Newport. Arlene Mary (Lynch) Blake, 86, formerly of Portsmouth, passed away March 21, 2016. She was the wife of the late William Blake. She leaves behind five children, 11 grandchildren, and one greatgrandchild. Lydia Davis, 61, passed away after a short battle with cancer on March 27, 2016. She leaves behind three children, Christine Davis of Portsmouth, Brian Davis (Melissa) of Middletown, and Michelle Davis of Middletown, and five grandchildren. Calling hours will be Friday, April 1, from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Memorial Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be April 2 at 10 a.m. at Jesus Saviour Church. Cathleen D. (Westley) Doncaster, 79, of Newport, passed away March 23, 2016 at Grand Islander Health Care Center, Middletown. She was the wife of the late William J. Doncaster Sr. She leaves behind her children, Harry Doncaster of Portsmouth, Cathleen Fournier of Westport, and Jane Dowler of Middletown, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Marcia H. (Troy) Logan, 97, of Middletown, passed away March 17, 2016. She leaves behind her daughter, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 2, at 11 a.m. at the Graceway Community Church, 215 Forest Ave., Middletown.

Donald Gordon McMillan, 73, of Middletown, passed away March 25, 2016 at Newport Hospital. He leaves behind his wife, Jean (Maynard) McMillan, three children, and a granddaughter. Donations in his memory may be made to the St. Joseph’s Church Soup Kitchen, 5 Mann Ave., Newport, RI 02840.

Robert S. Romanelli, 64, of Newport, passed away March 28, 2016 at the Newport Hospital. He leaves behind his father, John Romanelli, of Portsmouth, his daughters, Heather and Sarah Romanelli, and his former wife, Jill (Rocklin) Romanelli, all of Middletown. A graveside funeral will be March 31, at 1 p.m., at St. Mary’s Churchyard, Portsmouth. Shiva will be private. Jay Robert Schochet, 85, of Newport, passed away March 24, 2016. He leaves behind his wife, Suzette (Dauch) Schochet; his daughter, Sarah Schochet Henken and her partner, Darrah O’Connor; son-in-law Richard Henken (Gabrielle); and two grandchildren. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date at King’s Chapel, Boston, and in Newport. Evelyn M. (Burns) Wyatt, 82, of Portsmouth, passed away March 27, 2016. She leaves behind her husband, Frank Wyatt; four children, Nancy Wyatt of Newport, Tom Wyatt of Newport, Steve Wyatt (Karen) of Portsmouth, Suzanne Oswald (Robert) of Fla. and Portsmouth; seven grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren.
