DivorceCare, a ministry of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, meets on most Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend. This program helps adults cope with the experience of their divorce through group discussion and personal study. At the same time, DivorceCare for Kids is offered. Games, music, videos, stories, and discussions help kids process divorce and move forward. The next meeting will take place on Thursday, March 31, at St. Peter’s Church, 525 Broadway. Film Noir and Femmes Fatales

The Learning Center of Channing Church will present a series of four Saturday night classic films of the film noir genre at 6:30 p.m. on Saturdays, April 2, 9, 23, and May 7 at the church’s Parish Hall, 135 Pelham St. The first film is “Double Indemnity.” Other films in the series are “Postman Always Rings Twice,” “Out of the Past,” and “The Lady from Shanghai.” Discussion will be led by Sam Jernigan, a film aficionado who has led courses at the Circle of Scholars at Salve Regina University. Wine and cheese will be served. A $5 donation per film is suggested.

Chanting Group Meets

On Saturday, April 2, from 10- 11:30 a.m., the Chanting Group will meet in Emmanuel Church’s All Saints’ Chapel, 42 Dearborn St. Chanting is a form of meditation with the goal of improving receptivity and focus. It is not necessary to be an experienced singer to join the group. The chanting group is open to anyone. Many chants are by Ana Hernandez (anahermusic.com). Emmanuel Church’s First Sundays at 5’

The April 3, 5 p.m. service at Emmanuel Church, 42 Dearborn St., will feature the chants of the Taizé monastic community in France. All are welcome to attend this contemplative worship service. 401-847-0675.

‘Doubt’ Program at Trinity

On Sunday, April 3, at Trinity Church, Queen Anne Square, Rev. Alan Neale will present a class on “Doubt” (Friend or Foe, Guest or Resident). The program will be held in Honyman Hall from 9-9:45 a.m. Coffee will be served and all are welcome to attend. 401-846-0660.

Piano Concert

The Jamestown Community Piano Association concert series continues with a performance by Adam Clark on Monday, April 4, at 3 p.m. at Saint Matthew’s, 87 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown. 401- 423-1762.

‘Jesus without Christianity’ Seminars Continue

The Learning Center of Channing Church will continue its series of Wednesday evening seminars about who Jesus was and what he taught, led by the church’s minister, Rev. Jay Deacon. The public is invited to attend. Upcoming seminars will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays April 6, 13, 20, and 26 in the parish house behind the church, at 135 Pelham St. A $10 registration fee for one or more sessions can be paid at the door.
