Weekly ‘Finding Hope’ Support Group

For those who are divorced or separated, St. Lucy’s Church’s Office of Life and Family offers the Finding Hope support group at its parish center, 909 West Main Road, Middletown, on Thursdays, 7-8:30 p.m., through May 26. This free program provides a healing environment in the light of the Catholic faith. For more information, contact Peter A. Magnotta at 401-421-7833 x217. The next meeting of Finding Hope is on Thursday, March 24.

Good Friday Walk for Hunger

The Aquidneck Island Good Friday Walk to End Hunger & Homelessness will take place on Friday, March 25, and will begin and end at St Joseph’s Church, 5 Mann Avenue. Registration and check-in will be in the basement starting at 8 a.m. and the walk will commence after a short invocation at 9 a.m. Pledge sheets will be available at the doors of the church or via goodfridaywalkforhungerri.org. ‘War Room’ Screens

Portsmouth United Methodist Church, 2732 East Main Road, will screen “War Room,” Saturday, March 26, at 5 p.m. All are welcome to attend. For more information, contact the church office at 401- 683-4005.

‘The Art of Deception’ Seminar

Channing Church, 135 Pelham Street, will hold a seminar entitled “The Art of Deception,” presented by Dr. Eric Shaw, professor of operations at the Naval War College. The session will explore the history and psychology of deception and its application through examples from the visual and performing arts. It will be held Thursday, March 24, at 7 p.m., in the parish hall behind the church. A $5 suggested donation can be paid at the door. Jesus without Christianity Seminars

The Learning Center of Channing Church will present a series of five Wednesday evening seminars about who Jesus was and what he taught, led by the church’s minister, Rev. Jay Deacon. The public is invited to attend. Seminars will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays March 30, and April 6, 13 and 20 in the parish house behind the church, at 135 Pelham Street. Piano Concert

Easter Egg Painting Party in the Parish Hall of the Newport Congregational Church. Sunday, March 27, 2-4 p.m., everyone of all ages is welcome.
