RECENT DEATHS

Leopold N. “Leo” Ayotte, 89, of Newport, passed away March 3, 2016 at Village House Nursing Home, Newport. He was the husband of the late Shirley Jane (Roberts) Ayotte. He leaves behind his son, Michael Ayotte of Newport. He was a life member and past commander of VFW Post #406 Newport, a life member and past commander of the American Legion Post #7 Newport. He was buried with Military Honors in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter. Philip W. Boisseau, GMC U.S.N. Retired Master Diver, 82, of Middletown, passed away March 4, 2016 at the Grand Islander Health Care Center. He was the husband of Rita E. Brown Boisseau of Middletown and the late Julia M. (Borecki) Boisseau. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He leaves behind five children, three stepchildren, and nine grandchildren. Donations in his memory may be made to Homes for Our Troops at hfotusa.org.

Frank C. Carr, 83, of Middletown, passed away March 6, 2016 at John Clarke Health Care Center, Middletown. He leaves behind his wife, Carol Sherman Carr, his son, David Carr (Elizabeth), and three grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, stjude.org.

Kathy DeSisto, 58, of Portsmouth, passed away unexpectedly March 3, 2016 after a brief illness. She leaves behind her husband, Marc, her children, Tony and Allie, and six grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at the Portsmouth Abbey.

Lillie (White) Dias, 96, of Middletown, passed away Feb. 28, 2016 at Heatherwood Nursing and Subacute Center, Newport. She was the wife of the late Harry Dias. She leaves behind her daughter, Gregoria Dias of Middletown. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 1 State St., Suite 200, Providence, RI 02908.

David Allen Harlow, “Happy”, 65, of Little Compton, formerly of Middletown, passed away unexpectedly on March 5, 2016. He leaves behind his wife, Stephanie Maynard Harlow, and his daughters, Kelly and Katelin. Calling hours will be Sunday, March 13, from 4-7 p.m. at Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Rd., Portsmouth. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Sheila Drew O’Brien, 91, of Newport, passed away March 3, 2016 at Village House Nursing Home, Newport. She leaves behind her former husband George Nicolau, two sons, and a grandson. A celebration of her life will be held in the late spring. Donations in her memory may be made to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, 200 Niantic Ave., Providence, RI 02907.

Father Ambrose, born Robert Wolverton, 85, passed away March 6, 2016. He served in the ROTC at Harvard, then joined the U.S. Navy to become a communications officer. He entered the then Portsmouth Priory and was professed a monk in 1962. He taught at the Abbey school until his retirement in 2012.
