Grand Prize–38 Pelham St., John Lapointe, James and Michelle Mullowney Grand Prize–38 Pelham St., John Lapointe, James and Michelle Mullowney If anyone needs a reminder that it’s Christmas in Newport, look no further than the decorated windows and doorways all over town. The displays of greenery and Christmas spirit showcase the city’s distinctive architecture and elements in designs only seen at this time of year. The annual doorway decorating contest drew a great response, according to committee chair Katie Ahearne. Competition was keen at all levels.
