Holiday Sing-Along

The joyful noise of Christmas: Throughout December, there are no less than 25 events planned in and around the City by the Sea devoted to the music of the season. From Trinity and Emmanuel to St. Lucy’s and Jesus Saviour churches; from St. George’s to Cluny School, Bowen’s Wharf and area senior centers; and from youth choruses and Swanhurst to numerous programs of Lessons and Carols—and even a Christmas in Sign performance as well as a visiting men’s chorus from Russia, celebrations of the Christmas season in Newport are diverse and full of tradition and joy. Pictured here, local performer Chris Carbone performs a sing-along of holiday music for a roomful of children on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at the Newport Public Library. Joining in are Lauren Sutton and her daughter Molly, age 2; and, standing, are Nicole Mineau and her little Mason, age 18 months.
