'Taste of Newport' Raises Nearly $100K for Child & Family


Dan Hall and The Perro Salado team Dan Hall and The Perro Salado team Supporters of Child & Family and Newport’s best restaurants and chefs turned out at the Hotel Viking on the evening of Nov. 1 and brought in nearly $100,000 during the 32nd annual "Taste of Newport' fundraiser. The beloved event, which featured selections from 23 local restaurants, caterers and confectioners, was generously supported by Executive Chef sponsors Bowen’s Wharf and Centreville Bank; Head Chef sponsors People's Credit Union and Affiliated Insurance Managers, Inc.; and Sous Chef sponsors Corrigan Financial, Inc., Batchelor, Frechette, McCrory, Michael & Co., and Endurance Wealth Management.

Proceeds from the evening will go to support the many programs and community services C&F provides to families, children, teens and elders.

Chefs donating their talents included Barry Correia from The Viking’s One Bellevue, Lou Rossi from Castle Hill Inn, Richard Silvia from The White Horse Tavern, Christopher Bender and David Crowell from Stoneacre Pantry, and pastry chef Matthew Pearson of Newport Restaurant Group. Guests chose between the informal cocktail party format offered by the Taste Experience, or the elegant sit-down Dine Experience.
