DivorceCare, a ministry of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, meets Friday evenings at 6:30 p.m. This ministry helps adults cope with the experience of their divorce through video, group discussion and personal study to reinforce the weekly topics. PipeScreams on the Point

St. John the Evangelist Church will screen the 1925 classic film, “The Phantom of the Opera,” on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 6:30 p.m.

Compline at Trinity

Stemming from the earliest prayer traditions of the ancient church, Compline was the last part of the daily monastic services, sung as a final prayer before going to sleep. On the last Sunday of the month, Trinity Church at Queen Anne Square offers this rare opportunity for deep spiritual contemplation and mediation. All you have to do is show up and listen. Fracking Documentary Screens

“Groundswell Rising: Protecting Our Children’s Air and Water” will screen at Emmanuel Church, 42 Dearborn St., Monday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. The film is a documentary about the grassroots movement challenging the oil and gas industry on the safety of fracking. Autumn Retreat

Take part in a retreat, held from 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30 through 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, is designed to help you release worry and concern, and to feel a deeper sense of connection and relaxation. Held in the tranquil rural setting of Conanicus Camp and Conference Center in Exeter, this 24-hour getaway will help you relax and renew your body, mind and spirit. First Sundays at Five Series

“An Evensong for All Saints' Day” will be presented on Nov. 1 at 5 p.m. at Emmanuel Church, 42 Dearborn St. This is the second of the church’s “First Sundays at Five” series. For more information, contact the church office at 401-847-0675.

Concert in Memory of the Deceased

On Sunday, Nov. 1 at 2 p.m., St. Mary’s Music Ministry will offer a concert in memory of all the deceased members of St. Mary’s Parish. The concert will include uplifting selections sung by members of the parish choir, music played on the pipe organ, and other vocal and instrumental music. This concert is held in the hope that it will bring comfort and consolation to those mourning the loss of loved ones. All are invited to attend. Annual Harvest Fair

St. Joseph's Church at 5 Mann Ave. will hold its annual Harvest Fair on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 9:30 a.m.- 3 p.m. Featured activities and tables include a major raffle with cash prizes, a quilt raffle, silent auction, white elephant sale, theme baskets table, Christmas table, boutique table, a 50/50 raffle, and children's activities. Penny Social

The public is invited to Jesus Saviour Church’s Penny Social on Sunday, Nov. 8. There will be 100 items to vie for. Tickets are $1 or six for $5. Tickets may be purchased at the event. There will be free refreshments. The social will be held from 1 – 5 p.m., doors open at noon. The event is sponsored by the Jesus Saviour Rosary Sodality. The church is located at 1 Vernon Ave.
