RECENT DEATHS

Jeanne Priest Keating, 85, of Middletown, passed away Aug. 1, 2015. She leaves behind her husband, Edward S. Keating, six daughters, nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Services will be private. Donations in her memory may be made to the National Audubon Society at audubon.org or Reading Is Fundamental at rif.org.

Harold W. “Mickey” McPherson III, 57, of Middletown, passed away July 29, 2015 at Newport Hospital. He leaves behind his wife, Gloria (Southworth) McPherson, three children, and seven grandchildren. Donations in his memory may be made to American Cancer Society of Rhode Island, 931 Jefferson Blvd., Suite 3004, Warwick, RI 02886.

Robert M. Murphy, 90, of Newport, passed away Aug. 3, 2015 at Forest Farm Health Care Center, Middletown. He was the husband of the late Margaret M. “Chickie” (Bennett) Murphy. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and had a long career with the Newport Police Department. He leaves behind six children and 12 grandchildren. Calling hours will be Friday, Aug. 7, from 4 - 7 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Aug. 8 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church. He will be buried with military honors. Donations in his memory may be made to Meals on Wheels, 325 West Main Road, Newport, RI 02840.

Frank J. Rose, 95, of Middletown, passed away Aug. 4, 2015 at Newport Hospital after a brief illness. He leaves behind his wife, Adeline (Feijo) Rose, three children and nine grandchildren. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and was invited onto the USS Missouri to witness the signing of the Peace Treaty with Japan. Calling hours will be Friday, Aug. 7, from 4 – 7 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Aug. 8 at 10 a.m. at Jesus Saviour Church. He will be buried with military honors. Donations in his memory may be made to the Middletown Rescue Wagon Fund, 239 Wyatt Road, Middletown, RI 02842.
